2016 Summer Youth Cultural Experiencing Camp

  Learning Chinese becomes a worldwide trend nowadays. "2016 Summer Youth Cultural Experiencing Camp" is organized by YCEA and Penta International Education Institute, which is focusing on professional Chinese courses, cultural experience, local ecological observation... etc.

 

  Through all these professional course planning and diversified learning environment, we expect to assist Chinese youth from different countries and youth with different nationalities to learn Chinese easily and effectively.

 

  Furthermore, we hope to create an interactive atmosphere with local students, so campers will actually practice their Chinese in a natural way and have a lot of fun at the same time.

 

 

 

 

Camp Highlights

In the Youth Cultural Camp, all courses and activities are designed by experienced teachers to ensure that every student has a successful learning experience and a memorable summer vacation. Also, there will be counselors who are from the Chinese Language Department to assist students during activities and daily care.

27 Main Mandarin Lessons per session

Sports, art and cultural activities included

4 full day excursions

One-week visit to local attractions in SunLinkSea

24-hour life care and interaction by assistant counselors

On average, there are fifteen students per class, which is fairly small and manageable, thereby helping to create more interactions between students and teachers, even between students from different countries. At the beginning of the camp, students will need to take a placement test to determine which class they should join.

 

Sample Schedule

During the 3 weeks of the summer camp, students will experience different learning environments. In the first 2 weeks, Students will stay in National Taipei University of Business and live in the university’s dormitory. Also, they will have Mandarin lessons in the university’s classrooms and interact with local students during cultural activities and excursions.

 

After 2 weeks in National Taipei University of Business, Students will travel to the middle of Taiwan to visit SunLinkSea, which is a destination every tourist must visit, for the final week of the camp. Also, students will live in SunLinkSea Forest and Nature Resort, which is surrounded by nature scenery. at this location, student will be learning Mandarin at an outdoor setting.

 

 

l   Culture Activities include: Calligraphy & Seal, Lantern DIY, Paper Cut, Chinese Knot,Blue Dye, Tea Making.

l   Excursions include: Kayaking ; Leofoo Village Theme Park & Leofoo Theme Park ;visit Longshan Temple, Ximen and city hall through MRT Blue line;visit Taipei 101, Danshui, Shilin Night Market through MRT Red line.

l   Interaction Time emphasize on activities and sharing with local students.

l   The Schedule may change or switch to another date due to weather and other unpredictable factors.

 

Location

Week 1&2 – National Taipei University of Business

Founded in 1917, National Taipei University of Business (NTUB) is one of the most prestigious universities in Taiwan, dedicated to providing the best business education to students from all over the world. NTUB has been an important part of the economic development in Taiwan. Also, NTUB cooperates closely with not only companies in Taiwan but also many institutions abroad. With aspirations of being crowned the top business school in the country, NTUB was awarded no less than eight first ratings in the professional field. Students are encouraged to take a diverse range of approaches to studying and to thinking creatively.

 

Week 3 –SunLinkSea Forest and Nature Resort

Located between Xitou and Ali Mountain in Nantou county,

SunLinkSea is famous for its amazing “Sun-link-sea” scenery. Situated at an altitude of approximately 1600-1800m, SunLinkSea has an average temperate of 20℃ all year round. In the Summer, when it is scorching hot everywhere in Taiwan, SunLinkSea is able to maintain an average temperate of 20℃, which makes the area a perfectly ideal place to travel. Grand hotel offers 129 spacious and warmth guest rooms, including 3 VIP suites, all with warm lightings and a blend of neoclassicism décor. All rooms and suites have large windows that display dramatic mountain views.
